What a license actually covers.
The full terms are in the End User License Agreement and the Refund Policy. This is what they say, in the order you are likely to ask.
Five Macs
One license installs on up to five Macs you own or control: a desktop, a laptop, a spare. It is issued to you as a named individual, so it covers your machines rather than five people.
A one-time purchase
There is no recurring charge and nothing to cancel. The license is perpetual: it never expires, and it is not a floating or concurrent-use seat.
12 months of updates
Your updates window runs for twelve months from the date of purchase. Every version released inside it is covered and stays yours.
The last covered version is yours forever
When the window closes nothing is taken away. The newest version you were entitled to keeps working, on all five Macs, for as long as you want to run it.
Versions released afterward
They are not covered by your purchase. If you install one it will run with Community features, which is the licensing model working as described rather than a fault.
14-day refund, no questions
Email support within 14 days and we refund in full, with no reason required. Polar Software Inc. is our Merchant of Record, so Polar handles tax and issues the refund to your original payment method. Your statutory consumer rights apply on top of this.
Activation works offline, and the application re-validates your license periodically afterward. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what that transmits, which is neither your files nor anything about them.

Everything the free edition does, it keeps doing forever. The paid editions add connections and workspaces, never features you already had.

Before you buy.
Do I have to pay to evaluate it?
No. Every download unlocks the complete Pro and Infra feature set for 14 days, with no account and no payment details. When the trial ends the application continues as Community rather than stopping.
Which edition do I need?
If you work with files on your own Mac, Community is the whole product. Choose Pro when you need to reach a server, NAS, bucket, or cloud drive from inside the app. Choose Infra when you also work with Kubernetes clusters or Docker. The trial is the reliable way to find out.
What currency, and who charges me?
Prices are in US dollars. Polar Software Inc. is our Merchant of Record, so Polar takes the payment, applies any sales tax or VAT your jurisdiction requires, and sends the receipt. The line on your statement is Polar's, not ours.
Can I buy several licenses for a team?
Yes. A license is issued to one named individual, so a team needs one each. Email [email protected] for volume pricing and a single invoice.
What if I lose my license key?
Have it resent to the address you bought with from the license recovery page. No support ticket required.
